Bar Douro | London

by Sunday, July 16, 2017

Bar Douro has opened a few months ago in the London Bridge area – a new upcoming area when it comes to food. It sources its inspiration from the traditional Portuguese cerveijarias. The duo behing Bar Douro – Max Graham and Tiago Santos – strives to revisit typical dishes with a contemporary touch on Portuguese cuisine alongside expertly sourced regional wines.

Designed around a broad open kitchen the restaurant has an incredible attention to detail when it comes to style, with typical Portuguese essence and contemporary touches: blue and white traditional tiles from Lisbon, bare bulbs and exposed pipes. Food wise, the same attention to detail can be found, a deliciously good hearty with intense and refined touches. Typical Portuguese dishes are served such as bacalhau, clams, charred octopus, langoustine or beefs cheeks and suckling pig… Bar Douro is perfect for an easy dinner with friends enjoying a couple of plates – tapas style –  and a few glasses of great wine in a cool spot. No reservations…
