Only 10 minutes walking from Plaça de Catalunya, Moritz has become a must go and must eat in Barcelona! After a 10-year renovation, it reopened its doors a few years ago and has become a cultural meeting point of the Sant Antoni neighbourhood. The food is simple – traditional tapas – but very good and managed by the talented Jordi Vilà. And it offers a great beer and wine experience where you can taste over 500 different sorts!
It is perfect for a night out with friends in an atypical venue. The huge building (4.500m2) reconverted into a spectacular place, was first used by the brand in 1864 when the founder of Moritz decided to build his factory in it. Today, memories from the past are still alive like the reinforced concrete tank that was used during the brewing process. Tapas are delicious and shared on big communal tables, allowing you to get to know your neighbours.
The contrast between the old building housing the Fàbrica and the very industrial architecture and design by Jean Nouvel, makes it a true experience.
