Clinton St Baking in Lower East Side is an institution in the neighborhood. And you’ll understand why pretty fast! But before that, you’ll have to earn it – and queue a little…
This is how the owners describe it: “Our tiny, 32 seat spot is comfortable and lived in, humble and well worn; in the morning it smells like blueberry muffins and fresh ground coffee; in the evening, buttermilk fried chicken and waffles. All day and night it sounds like latin-southern-blue note jazz”. And it is exactly like that. The restaurant is small and simple and the smells will make your head spin! A first glance at the counter and you will see all sorts of delicious pastries, cakes, muffins etc.
All dishes are made with diary products from the farm and the menu has everything… Eggs, pancakes, waffles & their homemade special maple butter, eggs benedict, chicken sandwich, fried chicken, tacos, burgers, pies, sundays, shakes etc. And you can even have Breakfast for Dinner! OMG, I am actually starving now… Of course, this is not very balanced, but one in a while you should deserve it and ENJOY it! And all products are fresh and locally sourced.
I would also recommend to go just in a few people or you will have trouble to be seated.
They also do Delivery & Take out for those who do not like to wait a bit… No weekend brunch delivery bit you are welcome to take out. February is Pancake Month at Clinton St Baking!
